Anarchy PSA is Kelowna's home for serious dog sport. We train and compete in PSA — where precision, drive, and control come together.
Drive is common. Control is rare.
PSA — the Protection Sports Association — is an advanced, scenario-based civilian dog sport conceived in 2001. It tests a dog's reliability, courage, and self-control under extreme environmental pressure and real-world distractions. This is not a sport of repetition and predictability. Every trial is different by design.
A PSA trial runs across two phases. Obedience accounts for roughly a third of the score and is unlike anything in traditional dog sport — suited decoys walk the field screaming, agitating, and throwing food and toys while the dog is expected to maintain complete focus on the handler. Protection makes up the remaining two thirds and uses full-body bite suits rather than sleeves. Scenarios are real-world: carjackings, handler attacks, courage tests, and surprise exercises selected by the judge on the day.
The dog must bite with conviction and release immediately on command. Drive without control doesn't score. Control without drive doesn't either. Both are required at every level.
The mandatory entry-level evaluation. Dogs are scored but results are non-competitive — teams are not ranked against each other. Must be passed before advancing to titled competition.
The first titled level. Decoy pressure and scenario complexity increase. Dogs must demonstrate a reliable out and maintain obedience focus through significant environmental distraction.
Scenarios become more complex and decoy pressure more unpredictable. The dog's self-control and the handler's timing are tested at a level most teams never reach.
The elite tier. Obedience routines change at the judge's discretion on the day of the trial — the dog and handler must be prepared for anything. The benchmark of the sport.
Anarchy PSA is a working club. We're here for people who are serious about building something real with their dog — not for weekend hobbyists chasing a ribbon.
Membership gets you access to club training days, mentorship from experienced handlers, and a community that takes the sport seriously.
We don't care what breed you have or where you're starting from. We care that you show up, put in the work, and respect the sport.
Come out and see the club in action before committing. Serious prospects are always welcome to observe.
We'll assess where your team is at and what you need to be competitive. No ego, just honest feedback.
Active members must be registered with PSA. We'll walk you through the process if you're new to the organization.
Consistency is what separates competitive teams from casual ones. Membership means commitment.
